Westmont’s Standard Market coming to Lincoln Park

Standard Market, which has gained a rabid following in Westmont with its emphasis on local and sustainable food in the two years it’s been open, is taking its show to the city. Come August, Standard Market Grill will be open at 444 W. Fullerton Ave. in the former Zapatista space at the corner of Clark Street. “We’re taking the grill concept and doing it in Lincoln Park,” said Ken Tsang, director of technology and marketing at Standard Market. The Lincoln Park location will not include a grocery.

The restaurant will feature locally sourced food such as Aurora Angus Beef ground in-house by butchers daily and fresh-made buns by their bakers. “We want to highlight a tie to the market,” Mr. Tsang said. “It’s a good combination of all the fresh food we have on hand in a 33,000-square-foot market.”

The menu at the 160-seat, fast-casual restaurant will be an expanded version of what’s offered in Westmont — burgers, sandwiches, salads, soups, pizza and more with rotating daily specials at lunch and dinner.
Standard Market Grill will have a full bar and, like the market, will include local selections. Wine will come from around the world. The restaurant will serve lunch and dinner daily and breakfast on the weekends to accommodate the active area; it will have patio seating on the Clark Street side.
